Magnus Huseby
GUIDE
Magnus is the founder and heart of Longyearbyen Guiding. Before he retired from Sveagruva in 2022, his mind had already begun to wander: what will I become when I grow up? The seed was sown, and Longyearbyen Guiding was founded on January 24, 2022, with the first bus arriving in May of the same year. Magnus began guiding that summer and is still firmly behind the wheel, while the stories he has experienced himself and the history of Longyearbyen flow out over the loudspeaker system.
Magnus is the product we sell: a cheerful guy from Bergen with the biggest heart in the world. Now that the company has expanded and bus number two arrived on the island in June 2025, Magnus will occasionally have to share the limelight with Odd Bjørnar.
Magnus is a certified city guide through Visit Svalbard and is the permanent resident who arrived on the island earliest. Even with 23 years on the mainland, he is one of those who has lived here the longest.
Odd Bjørnar Bøe
GUIDE
Odd Bjørnar is 40 years old and has lived in Svalbard since May 2024. He came here for what was supposed to be a summer job (seasonal worker) for Pole Position as a driver and handyman, and like so many others, he is still here. And we are happy about that! He still works daily at Pole Position and as a doorman at KB, in addition to drive and guide for Longyearbyen Guiding.
Odd Bjørnar is a certified city guide through Visit Svalbard and has guided bus tours in Geiranger, Trollstigen, Ålesund, Møre og Romsdal, and Molde for two years prior to move to Svalbard. He has also driven Northern Lights tours in Tromsø.
Odd Bjørnar considers himself an introvert and says that his jobs are his hobby. Both Odd Bjørnar's mother and youngest brother live and work here in Longyearbyen, as a kindergarten assistant and electrician, respectively, while his middle brother and father remain in Kristiansund.
Anne Marit Lindberg
ADMINISTRASJONSSJEF
Anne was a cheerleader for the project's early stages and helped to found the company. She later became a co-owner and employee, and manages much of the daily administration. She has become an expert on the Travelize booking system and keeps Magnus on his toes as best she can.
Anne came to Svalbard in January 2021 when she fled Oslo, which was shut down due to Covid. Although she had asked her cat sitter if he could take care of her cat for 10 days and her job required her to move down after six months, she is still here in her beautiful Svalbard. She sits on many boards and committees, is a trained winter guide through Visit Svalbard, and prefers to spend all her free time on long, cold snowmobile trips.
On daily basis she works as a lawyer in a consulting firm in Oslo and prefers to spend the summer months on her small boat in the inner Oslo Fjord.
Although Anne's heart belongs to Svalbard, she is a globetrotter, and you never know where in the world you might find her. In recent years, her travels have taken her to Thailand, Mykonos, Albania, Canada, Cuba, Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, Antarctica, Ghana, and more.
No matter where you meet Anne, we can guarantee that you will meet a bubbly, warm-hearted person who always sees the positive in life and is always ready for an adventure.
